Trips for falling in love with Spain
You must have had moments when you just wish you could get away from it all with your significant other. Leaving behind your everyday stresses and obligations, and just ENJOYING LIFE. There’s nothing better than waking up without an alarm clock (and guilt-free), lingering over breakfast and spending a few days exploring together. It’s the perfect romantic getaway. Luckily, Spain has many destinations, all very different, which you’ll fall in love with at first sight, ideal for sharing with that one special person. Here are a few to choose from:
-
Granada
It would take more than a paragraph to list all the things to do and see in this Andalusian city, but one of the essentials is a walk in the Albaicín Arab district. If you get a bit tired going up and down its hilly streets, you can relax at one of its traditional bars, where the tapas are usually delicious. Another almost obligatory stop is at one of the Arab baths… there are endless tempting options. There are plenty more must-sees in Granada, starting of course with the breathtaking Alhambra, Sacromonte Abbey, the Great Mosque, or a sunset from the San Nicolás viewpoint.See more information about Granada.
-
Segovia
This city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you’ll understand why as soon as you see it. Its most famous sight is the Roman Aqueduct, built over 2000 years ago and perfectly preserved. You’ll also be impressed by the Alcázar, a fairytale castle which has been restored and remodelled by different Spanish monarchs since it was built in the Middle Ages. And be sure to see the impressive Cathedral with its 88-metre tower, and the 15th-century Coca Castle, one of the best examples of the Spanish Gothic-Mudéjar architectural style.See more information about Segovia.

Mallorca
Formentor, Canyamel, Camp de Mar, Agulla, Portals Vells, Figuera, Mitjana… And many more beaches and coves of fine white sand, lapped by turquoise blue waters. Mallorca is full of little slices of paradise which can wipe away your cares in a moment. But it has so much more: the city of Palma, the Drach caves, and amazing villages like Pollensa, Sóller, Fornalutx, and Valldemossa are just a few of the jewels hidden away on this Balearic Island. Finally, you can hardly visit without trying its traditional ensaimada pastry and its delicious sobrasada paté.See more information about Mallorca.

Girona
Some of our suggestions for this historic Catalan city, founded by the Romans, include climbing the 90 steps of the Baroque staircase sweeping up to the cathedral; walking around its Jewish quarter, El Call with the unique charm of its cobbled streets, arches and alleyways; visiting its Roman wall to enjoy the sunset; strolling along the Rambla de la Llibertat, and admiring the picturesque houses overlooking the river Onyar. You can complete your trip with a visit to beautiful seaside villages like Cadaqués, Pals, Roses, or Begur. See more information about Girona.

Tenerife
The largest of the Canary Islands boasts one of the symbols of Spain: Mount Teide, the country’s highest peak. You can opt for a long walk to the top, over 3,700 metres up, or if you prefer, take a car or bus to the foot of the mountain, and then a cable car. Both options are valid, but don’t leave without the experience. Another place worth visiting is La Laguna, a 15th century city made for wandering its colourful streets and enjoying the unique atmosphere. And if you’re in Tenerife, you must try a swim in the amazing natural pools at Garachico, created by a volcanic eruption in 1706. Don’t forget the Cueva de los Vientos, a gigantic maze of underground passages.See more information about Tenerife.
Now you can get to planning your next destination, where you can see all the hidden wonders of these places. One last bit of advice: when you get there, switch everything off and go with the flow. It’ll be unforgettable!
