International music festivals in Spain for autumn, winter and spring
Spain is one of the countries with one of the widest ranges of music festivals. Especially during the summer, when thousands of people flock to events like FIB or Bilbao BBK Live. However, summer is not the only time to enjoy this type of show, as during the rest of the year there are also major events with national and international artists from a wide variety of genres: From rock, through jazz and pop, to flamenco and electronic music. Below we review some of the most notable festivals, starting with those from autumn through to spring.

Madrid International Jazz Festival
In autumn, Madrid becomes a key destination for jazz fans thanks to JazzMadrid. The Villanos hall, the Café Central, the Conde Duque Contemporary Culture Centre and CentroCentro are some of the venues that host performances by internationally renowned artists. Since the 1980s, it has featured figures such as Herbie Hancock, Gregory Porter, Chano Domínguez and Dave Holland. In addition to concerts, the festival organises exhibitions, film screenings and lectures on jazz culture.

Love The 90's
For those nostalgic for 90s music, the Love The 90's festival is held in several Spanish cities, featuring international groups and artists who delighted an entire generation, especially for lovers of pop and dance. Although it is held in summer in some cities, there are also editions in October and November in others such as Barcelona, Bilbao, Zaragoza or Tenerife. Thousands of attendees have danced to the rhythm of bands such as Ace of Base.

Barcelona International Jazz Festival
With almost six decades of history, it is one of the most renowned jazz festivals in Europe. Internationally renowned artists and legends such as Miles Davis and Jimmy Smith have been part of its line-up. In addition to the concerts, the festival offers parallel activities for attendees such as master classes and talks. Between October and March, the International Jazz Festival transforms Barcelona into a global meeting point for lovers of this genre.

BIME Live
If you are interested in Latin music and urban styles, the Bilbao International Music Experience Live, held in both Bogotá and Bilbao, is an essential event on any fan's agenda for October or November. Its journey began in 2013 and has seen the participation of big names such as Bad Gyal, Nathy Peluso, Trueno and Soulfia.

Inverfest
Over the course of several weeks in January and February, Inverfest schedules concerts in different venues and theatres in Madrid, covering styles such as rock, pop, alternative music and folk. Although most of the artists who have performed on its stages since 2015 are Spanish (such as Rosalía, Depedro, Coque Malla or Delaporte), Inverfest has also featured international groups like Explosions in the Sky, Band of Skulls or the pianist James Rhodes.

International Festival of Sacred Art
The chapel of the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Pontifical Basilica of San Miguel, the Church of Santa Barbara and the Royal Monastery of La Encarnación are some of the venues for the International Festival of Sacred Art, where indie music, electronic music, flamenco, jazz and early music take centre stage in the months of February and March.

Jerez Festival
Between February and March, this city in Cadiz hosts the two-week Jerez Festival, a world reference for flamenco. Dancers such as Antonio Canales and Sara Baras, prestigious singers such as El Pele and Pedro Montoya 'Chanquita' and avant-garde artists such as Daniel Ramos and Úrsula López have passed through its tablaos. If you visit the capital between October and November, you can also enjoy its Madrid cousin, the Suma Flamenca Festival. There is no better way to get to know the essence of flamenco and Andalusia!

Black Music Festival
The Black Music Festival of Catalonia is characterised by its wide range of musical genres, including blues, soul, funk, reggae, gospel and hip hop. It usually takes place between February and March in the province of Girona, thus welcoming spring on the Costa Brava. Some of the artists featured since 2002 are Maceo Parker, Morcheeba, Errol Linton and The Wailers.

If you want to enjoy a unique event in Spain against the incomparable setting of the Sierra de Segura (Jaén) in spring, the Music Festival in Segura is the perfect place. O Son do Camiño
Monte do Gozo in Santiago de Compostela is the incredible setting of O Son do Camiño, an open-air festival in the middle of spring attended by thousands of music fans since 2018. It was created to promote the Xacobeo 2021 and has since undergone a very significant evolution. Its two main stages have hosted big names in rock, pop, electronic, reggaeton and other genres, such as The Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, Iggy Pop and Daddy Yankee.
