Balneario La Hermida
Peñarrubia
The mineral and medicinal waters of La Hermida’s three springs were already being used for therapeutic purposes in the mid-17th century. In 1840, it was an important point of reference in classic spa therapy, and this prestige was more firmly established in 1880 with the construction of the Gran Hotel, the church and new galleries in the spa. Abandoned after the Spanish Civil War, it was completely rebuilt between 2003 and 2006. It is located in the middle of the La Hermida gorge, at the entrance to the Picos de Europa National Park.
