Aramón Formigal-Panticosa ski resort
Huesca
The joint Aramón Formigal-Panticosa resort, in the Tena Valley (the heart of the Huesca Pyrenees), boasts the largest snow destination in Spain, with 182 skiable kilometres and 147 slopes of different levels. The urbanisation of Formigal and the town of Panticosa, gateways to the two areas, are less than 15 kilometres apart by road.Formigal has always been considered one of the liveliest resorts in the Pyrenees, both during the day and at night. Its 101 slopes of varying difficulty (143 skiable kilometres), stretching across four small valleys, are easily accessible by car, with several thousand parking spaces. There is also a free bus service that connects the urban complex, belonging to the municipality of Sallent de Gállego, with the main accesses to the station. In Formigal it's not all about skiing, as you can also go on daytime or nighttime snowmobile routes, for example. It is home to around thirty restaurants and features original places such as the Izas Valley igloo bar and an Indian village. The other 39 skiable kilometres (46 runs) of the dual station are located in the Panticosa area, an ideal destination for families, but with options for both more and less experienced skiers. With easy access to the ski lifts, it also offers fun activities even for those who don't know how to ski, such as the Petrosos Park area, where you can have fun with sleds and snow games. That's not to forget that just seven kilometres from the town centre in the other direction is the famous Panticosa Spa, where you can relax after so much activity.
