Osuna

The Sevillian countryside to the east of the province, has a ducal town which has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. The rich monumental wealth of its historic quarter is highlighted in a typically Sevillian whitewashed country house.

Orense

Stretching out on the banks of the river Miño is the city of Ourense, which maintains its traditional link to the river through its Roman bridge. A crossroads, the Old City preserves major historic sites, outstanding among which is the Cathedral.

Oviedo

Ancient Ovetum has been closely linked, since its founding (8th century), to the Asturian monarchy, becoming the capital of the Kingdom of Asturias. This fact has left a historic centre with an undeniable medieval flavour, which modernity has provided with a carefully designed urban layout that is easy to navigate.

Padrón

Traditionally, this town's history is linked to that of the apostle Santiago (St. James)

Palafrugell

Located in the middle of the coast of Girona, the village of Palafrugell has an additional appeal: the archipelago of Islas Formigues, highly recommended for scuba diving.

Palamós

This town with excellent beaches and leisure opportunities is set right on the Costa Brava, on the coast of the province of Girona. The broken coastal relief provides both wide beaches and coves with clear water among the rocks.

Palencia

The river Carrión runs through the extensive plain of Tierra de Campos until it reaches Palencia.

Pals

A few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, right on the Costa Brava, lie the medieval streets of Pals. The county of Baix Empordà in the province of Girona has in this town a lovely old quarter, declared a Historic Artistic Site.

El Paso

The municipality of El Paso is situated in the centre of the island of La Palma. It is the island's largest municipality and the only one that is not on the coast.

Pastrana

Located between the Tajo and Tajuña Rivers, this village with a medieval layout and feel is one of the most notable of the Guadalajara province. It was the residence of noble lineages and the location of convents founded by the mystic Santa Teresa de Jesús. Its old quarter has the Property of Cultural Interest designation.

Pedraza

Declared to be a Historic-Artistic Site in 1951, the village of Pedraza has one of the most beautiful main squares in Castilla y León.

Peñafiel

The town of Peñafiel was fortified in 1307, and has always been a leading trade centre and historic site. Its famous hilltop castle was declared a National Monument in 1917.

Peñaranda de Bracamonte

Peñaranda de Bracamonte is near the city of Salamanca, only 40 kilometres away. It stands out for its three porticoed squares of genuinely Castilian architecture. Its historic quarter has been declared a Property of Cultural Interest.

Petra

The birthplace of Friar Junípero Serra, located on the island of Majorca, there are several monuments to visit. Its old town has been declared Property of Cultural Interest.

El Pinar

It is located in the southwest of the island of El Hierro and includes the villages of El Pinar and La Restinga. It is in an exceptionally beautiful setting, with a mountainous landscape of volcanic origin.

Plasencia

On the bank of the Jerte River, in the Extremaduran province of Caceres, Plasencia has a historic quarter that is a consequence of the city's strategic location along the Silver Route, or Ruta de la Plata. This town was inhabited by Romans and Arabs until the 12th century, when King Alfonso VIII reconquered it.

Platja d'Aro

Several prehistoric funereal monuments show that Platja d'Aro was an important settlement in the most distant times. There is also evidence of Roman presence in the village, from the Plá de Palol archaeological site.

Playa de Santiago

Playa de Santiago is a major tourist centre which comes under the municipality of Alajeró, situated in the southern part of the island of La Gomera. Situated in the sunniest area of La Gomera, Playa de Santiago is one of the most important tourist spots on the island. It is divided into two separate towns, Lomada de Tecina and Laguna de Santiago.

La Pobla de Segur

La Pobla de Segur is alongside the Noguera Pallaressa River and is one of the most historic villages in the Lleida Pyrenees. The streets of its medieval old town lead to two gates, Orteu and Parrau.

Pola de Lena

Pola de Lena is 33 kilometres from Oviedo and stands out for its rugged mountain landscape, as well as for its architectural heritage. Special mention should be made of Santa Cristina de Lena (11th century), a pre-Romanesque church, with the World Heritage designation.

Pollença

The northernmost spurs of Sierra de Tramuntana are the backdrop of the Majorcan town of Pollença. Widely known for its lively port and crystal-clear bay, the town has a medieval historic quarter that sits only a few kilometres away from the Mediterranean sea.

Ponferrada

Ponferrada, capital of the region of El Bierzo, is one of the major staging posts on the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela as it passes through the province of León. The historic quarter of this town sits below an imposing castle built by the Knights Templar.

El Pont de Suert

Pont de Suert is the capital of the High Ribagorza region, and is situated at a height of 841 metres on the banks of the river Noguera Ribagorçana, where the valleys of Barravés, Boí and Castanesa meet.
