Coast of Castellón
Coast of Castellón
You'll find Castellón on the Spanish Mediterranean coast in the north of the Region of Valencia, with over 120 kilometres of coastline and some of the loveliest beaches in the area. It’s known as Costa del Azahar - the Orange Blossom Coast.
There are a total of 16 coastal towns and villages to explore, some as famous as Benicàssim, Benicarló and Oropesa del Mar. Castellón de la Plana has eight nature reserves. Two of them include unspoiled coastlines: the Sierra de Irta nature reserve (with coastal sites like Peñíscola and Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre), and the Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca nature reserve. Highly recommended (and particularly for scuba-diving) is a visit to the Islas Columbretes nature and marine reserve.
