Festivals in Spain in April

none

Although Holy Week is a celebration with no fixed dates, sometimes beginning in March, it's usually the highlight of the month of April in Spain. These are days when the streets are packed with people and humming with emotion. Magnificent processions featuring traditional religious icons and saetas, traditional flamenco style songs. Every region of Spain celebrates Holy Week in its own way, and the atmosphere in each is very different. Seville, Málaga, León, Zamora, Valladolid, Salamanca, Cuenca ad Cartagena, are some of the cities that are best known for their celebrations, but there are so many more places to discover, each with its own unique style. Famous too are the tamboradas. This is when the drums take centre stage in Holy Week, for example in Hellín and Calanda. The April calendar also includes other important festivities, such as the April Fair in Seville, and the Moors and Christians Festival in Alcoy. Here you can see some of the festivals that usually take place in Spain in April.
