Popularly known as the "Canarian Garden", the Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden was founded by the Swedish botanist Eric Sventenius in 1952 with the aim of conserving and protecting the rich endemic flora of the islands. Over time, the plant collections have been enriched with contributions from all corners of the globe, and there has been an increase in research teaching work, all of which makes this steep slope of 27 ha of fascinating stroll through the different plant ecosystems to be found on the island.
