Talaiotic settlement of Torre d'en Galmés
Megaliths.
A prehistoric settlement from the pre-talaiotic period.
It has important megalithic monuments. This settlement was inhabited until the early Medieval period. The settlement had a public and a private area. In the public area are 3 talayots and an inner enclosure with a taula. In the private area there are circular houses. The rooms were divided by walls which radiated from the centre of the house. Attached to the house was another space, called a “hypostyle chamber”, which may have been some sort of storage area. The settlement also had a system for harvesting water from cavities drilled into the rock.
