La Consolación Sanctuary

This church, which has cultural property designation, is located in the outskirts of Utrera. It was built in the 12th century and inside there is a 15th century statue of Nuestra Señora de Consolación (Our Lady of Consolation), Patron Saint of the town. Two of the most outstanding elements in the church are its Mudejar coffering and the high altar, with reliefs and images of the saints. Throughout the nave there are various canvasses from the end of the 17th century, depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. The choir, for its part, has a wooden grille from the same period, and stalls with 48 seats, made at the beginning of the 18th century.
