A valuable heritage
Through the Plaza del Obradoiro, you can access the Cathedral Museum, which occupies the westernmost part of the cloister of the Cathedral of Santiago.
The museum houses among its collections important archaeological samples, sculpture, painting, goldsmithing, tapestries, carpets, liturgical clothing, ceramics and furniture. Its collection takes up several rooms, and includes an important selection of tapestries made following designs by Ginés de Aguirre, Teniers, Rubens, Van Tulden, Bayeu and Goya. One of the rooms is dedicated to Goya, where twelve tapestries from the Royal Factory of Santa Bárbara in Madrid are displayed. Two of them are unique specimens: Children in a Chariot and The Fountain.
