San Miguel market

This emblematic building in the very heart of Madrid is a traditional market with a wrought iron structure that is still in place, and which was remodelled to create a modern space with top-quality products. San Miguel market and its charming decor houses more than 30 stalls that sell exquisite and selected products. It aims to become a reflection of the gastronomic plurality of Spain and become a Culinary Culture Centre that also hosts courses, presentations, fairs and other events. In addition, thanks to its long opening hours, it is perfect for daytime and night-time leisure, since it also has wine bars and restaurants where you can enjoy their succulent tapas. Moreover, it was classified as Property of Cultural Interest in the “Monuments” category. The building was completed in 1916 under the supervision of Alfonso Dubé y Díez. The square where it is located, Plaza de San Miguel (next to the famous Plaza Mayor square), is one of the liveliest enclaves in Madrid.
