San Antón market

Found in the popular neighbourhood of Chueca (Madrid), this now restored and modern market offers seasonal and high-quality products to visitors in its building with three floors: a traditional market, show cooking and takeaway restaurants and a restaurant-terrace. This is currently one of the most popular places where you can go shopping, have an appetiser, enjoy some taps, taste gourmet products, etc.

Although its origins date back to the 19th century, the old market was demolished and its reconstruction started in 2007 to adapt it to the current times. It was reopened in May 2011. In 2020 another renovation project was rolled out with the aim of reconnecting San Antón market with the neighborhood.On the first floor, visitors can find all sorts of stalls, where they can purchase everything from quality sandwiches to more than 60 varieties of wine or meat and fish. The tasting area is on the second floor, where visitors can also enjoy some of the most popular dishes of Spanish and international fusion cuisine, ice cream, luxury hamburgers, ceviche, and many other specialties.Finally, visitors will find a restaurant on the third floor, where they cook products bought from the market, which also has a 400 m2 terrace-lounge with spectacular views to the neighbourhood. San Antón Market also represents a sustainable model that attempts to harness energy through the characteristics of its own construction.
