The Royal Gardens are organized on an orthogonal grid whose center is always marked by a fountain or a pavilion. Colour, which is provided by tiles and topiary, as in the Royal Alcazares of Seville, occupies a prominent place. This space has areas with very different layouts, some where a geometric and orderly design persists, with trimmed hedges, and others with a romantic character with large trees. Its entire extension is dotted with statues, such as the Awakening, presiding over a pool, or the Mozas del Cántaro by Octavio Vicent, and several monuments dedicated to Vicente Wenceslao Querol, Constantí Llombart, Canon Chabás or Walt Disney. Other attractions include the Museum of Natural Sciences and the rose garden, with a musical fountain in the centre.
