Of Arab origin, it was altered by the Christian Kings.Jaime I rebuilt the palace in the 13th century.The chapel was built during the times of Pedro el Ceremonioso (Pedro the Ceremonious). It was partially destroyed during the War of Independence.There are three large, rectangular towers outside.Inside, the naves are divided into sections, with noteworthy ogive vaults, decorated with Mudéjar designs.
