The Mercado del Puerto of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the result of the project for the remodelling of the city's former food market: a modernist wrought iron building, built in 1891 by technicians from the French company of the world-famous Gustave Eiffel, which was remodelled in 1994. It is a revitalisation project that includes thirty stalls, distributed between traditional businesses and gastronomic corners.
Buy true delicacies and then enjoy tasty tapas in the building's arcades. This is just one of the options in this busy market where, in addition to regular customers, many travellers come to enjoy the local cuisine and the international cuisine proposals, including Italian, Cuban, Turkish and Scandinavian, among others. Another advantage of Mercado del Puerto is its location since it is very close to Las Canteras beach.
