Paseo del Espolón (Burgos)

The history of the Paseo del Espolón in Burgos is very similar to that of any other main boulevard in any other Spanish city. Its layout has followed prevailing trends as they have come and gone, as well as various landscaping styles. However, Espolón has always maintained its integrity and has become the most representative of all of the city's parks, as well as the prototype for many similar pedestrian boulevards in lots of Spanish cities. It is situated in the centre of the city between the San Pablo and Santa María bridges, on the banks of the river Arlanzón.
