Córdoba
The Roman heritage of the impluvium, fused with Arab culture, resulted in the Andalusian patio, a protected interior enclosure in which the individual's family and social life takes place. Córdoba boasts countless premium quality patios but their epitome is the Palace of Viana (or the Palace of the Rejas de Don Gome) which has twelve patios –all of them beautiful and unique– with names as suggestive as patio of the Gardeners, the Madama, the Well, the Rejas, the Orange Trees, etc., in addition to a garden of about 1,200 m2, of Baroque design with Muslim influences.
