Palacio de las Dueñas (Medina del Campo)

It was built in the 16th century by the order of Rodrigo de Dueñas. The Renaissance Plateresque design is the work of the architect of king Carlos I, Luis de Vega. It has a brick façade with a tower. The doorway features two columns and a heraldic shield. The upper part features a classical gable. On the outer walls there are a number of small windows and a balcony with railings. Inside there is a two-floor central patio with basket-handle arches. It features roundels of the kings of Castille. Notable features include its beautiful chapel and the coffered ceilings of the building. It is currently home to a secondary school, Teachers Centre and the National University of Distance Education.
