This modernist building, inaugurated in 1917, is part of the movement known as the “Viennese Secession”.
Estación del Norte station is one of the best examples of civil architecture in the city. Both the exterior and the interior finishes show a uniform and unique style, in line with modernism. The façades are symmetrical, with numerous floral and colourful ornamental elements. The main façade features the central body, which marks the entrance, and the two towers at the ends. Inside, the lush decoration catches the eye, with wrought iron and woodwork, colourful ceramics and high-quality mosaics on the ceilings, floors and walls.
