The art of dramaturgy in Spain
Located in Almagro (Ciudad Real), it is the only museum in the country dedicated exclusively to the history of theatrical activity.
The catalogue spans the history of theatre in Spain, from Greco-Roman theatre to the avant-garde movements of the 20th century, including medieval theatre, the Golden Age, Romanticism, zarzuela and opera. The collection boasts over 10,000 works on paper, including stage sets, figurines, drawings and prints. It is also home to collections of paintings, sculptures, photographs (more than 30,000 images since 1870), models, programmes and costumes (more than 2,000 costumes from the end of the 18th century).Temporarily closed for renovations.
