A local painter
The museum is located in the Palace of the Kings of Navarre in Estella, the only example of Romanesque civil architecture in the autonomous community.
The collections includes works by Gustavo de Maeztu, a painter from Vitoria who spent his final years in Estella, with a wide range of subjects such as the female figure, portraits, the Civil War, still-lifes, landscapes... There are also many sketches and drawings by the artist, as well as some self-portraits.
