It is located in the house of Jerónimo Cósida, a 16th-century Renaissance building, and has more than 800 works on display. Throughout its rooms paintings and sculptures are exhibited, ranging from Gothic works to contemporary art from the 20th century. The second floor is dedicated to Francisco de Goya, with a room of paintings and another where his complete series of prints are exhibited. The museum provides a lot of information for the visitor, both in the rooms and via the audioguides and loaned tablets, and also through two audiovisual aids, directed both at adults and children. The museum is also an important centre for cultural activities. Its façade and magnificent colonnaded courtyard are well worth seeing.
