Can Saura. Museum of Ciutadella
Getting to know ancient Menorca
The museum is located in the former noble house of Can Saura, built between the 17th and 18th centuries.
The permanent collection takes visitors on an educational tour through the history of Menorca, from the first settlers on the island, the pre-Talayotic and Talayotic cultures, the Roman and Muslim periods until the island's integration into the Crown of Aragon in 1287. Palaeontological remains, jewellery and everyday objects are on display. Temporary exhibitions on archaeological, historical and ethnological themes are also organised. In addition, part of its collection also explains the trades of the city and the countryside and the Sant Joan festivities.
