León y Castillo house museum
The first Marquis of Muni and his brother
This place is a tribute to the León and Castillo brothers: Fernando, a diplomat and the first Marquis of Muni in Equatorial Guinea, and his brother Juan, the engineer who designed the Puerto de la Luz port in Gran Canaria.
The museum is in the birthplace of Fernando León y Castillo, which is an excellent example of Mudejar architecture in the Canary Islands. Inside you can see personal objects and an important collection of Spanish paintings from the 16th to the 20th century, with works by Madrazo and Cusachs. It also exhibits furniture, porcelain and sculptures by Benlliure.
