Melting pot of cultures.
The transformations of this monument reflect many and varied architectural styles.
As early as the 1st century BC, a basilica was located in the same place, which during the time of the Visigoths was called the Church of San Vicente. It was also a mosque. But it was in the 12th century when the first Christian church was built on top of all of them, which faced north instead of east, as was typical at the time, so as not to coincide with the direction of Muslim prayers towards Mecca. Changes were made later. La Seo also contains Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque styles. The main door, dating from the 18th century, is Baroque. Inside you can visit the Tapestry Museum, which has one of the best collections of Flemish tapestries in the world.
