Barcelona
This park was the object of one of the first and hardest-fought competitions of its type held in Barcelona, won by four young Catalonian architects. Located at the western edge of the Eixample area, they were faced with six hectares of arid, desert terrain that they turned into a highly functional park that united the requirements of this highly populated part of the city with local traditions. At one end there is a large, elevated, sandy beach, at the intersection of Tarragona and Aragó streets, where you can also see the large sculpture, “Woman and Bird”, by Miró.
