Lanzarote
Underground lake
The artist César Manrique transformed a lava tube to create this Art, Culture and Tourism Centre, inviting visitors to an experience where art and nature combine. Inside, there is a spectacular natural lake connected to the sea. It is home to a species of tiny, blind, albino crabs which only live here. You can also see a pool of turquoise water, the Tunnel of Atlantis, and the world’s only auditorium in a volcanic cave, with seats for 550 people.
