The painter Salvador Dalí gave this castle to his muse, Gala.
In 1996 the medieval castle of Púbol became the Gala Dalí Museum House. The artist brought all his creative energy to bear on this site, which was ultimately intended to be his wife’s mausoleum. Dalí remodelled the building completely, opening up new spaces and creating a romantic atmosphere with its decoration. The result is this mysterious place, at once sombre and charming, with moments of great beauty, such as the Piano Room and the former kitchen converted to a bathroom.
