Fortifications of Aracena
Huelva
The main buildings are the Castle of Aracena and the church of Nuestra Señora del Mayor Dolor.
At the entrance to Aracena, this Templar church stands on top of a small hill. In the Gothic style, it dates from the 13th century. It stands on a hillock beside Aracena Castle. It is the oldest parish in the district, and can be classified as a church-fortress. The Las Maravillas grotto lies underneath the limestone hill on which the building stands.
