Cebreiro Ethnographic Reserve. Lugo

Cebreiro Ethnographic Park

Lugo

The reserve is located in a small village, the first stage in Galicia of the Camino de Santiago on the French Way. For centuries, this town, which houses a pre-Romanesque sanctuary from the 9th century, has welcomed numerous pilgrims. The Park is made up of a group of pallozas, which are typical buildings in the Os Ancares region. These are houses built with slate or granite, with conical roofs covered with straw. Several of them can be visited, and one of them holds a small museum. The “pallozas” are representations of the way of life of people who knew how to preserve their traditions, and who learned to adapt to the high-mountain environment of Lugo. Inside, it contains simple furniture and household items typical of that rural way of life.
