Pirates in Cullera

A visit to this museum is a reminder of a historical event: The assault on Cullera carried out by the Turkish pirate Dragut in 1550.

According to legend, it is the cave where the ransom was paid to Dragut in exchange for the release of the hostages. The tour of the cave-museum will arouse the curiosity of children, who will be able to see a reproduction of a brig, old nautical instruments, artillery pieces, maps, clothing, coins... This collection of pieces provides an insight into the world of piracy in the Mediterranean Sea during the 16th century and the advances made in navigation techniques.
