The world of the Navy
This archive was created in 1948, in the surroundings of a magnificent 16th century palace.
Its collections are sourced from the Central Archive of the Navy Headquarters and from the three corresponding to the Maritime Zones of the Strait, the Cantabrian Sea and the Mediterranean. Most of the documents date back to 1784 and earlier, although there are a series of Royal Orders from Cadiz and some files from Ferrol and Cartagena, which are older. The most recent archives date back to the years of the Spanish Civil War. In its rooms you can also see naval models, pieces, paintings, weapons and instruments related to naval history and culture.
