Diocesan Museum of Jaca
Huesca
Images of the Virgin Mary and Christ
The museum exhibits medieval sacred art from the 11th to the 14th centuries, but also gems from other periods such as the Baroque.
The Romanesque and Gothic frescoes are particular highlights, as are the carvings of the Virgin Mary and Christ. Remains of medieval architecture in capitals and sarcophagi. The so-called Sala Bagües also houses the largest collection of Romanesque mural paintings in the country, murals that once appeared in the church of Saints Julian and Basilisa in the abandoned Aragonese village of Bagües.
