Through outfits and designs, the museum offers a tour of the career of the brilliant Spanish couturier.
Located in his hometown, Getaria, it is the first museum in the world dedicated exclusively to a designer. Figures such as Christian Dior, Givenchy and Coco Chanel showed their admiration for Balenciaga. The museum is located in a building next to the Aldamar Palace, the place where the couturier began his career in the world of fashion. The permanent exhibition consists of a selection of nearly one hundred pieces, including the wedding dress of Queen Fabiola of Belgium and the dresses designed for Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco. In addition, the collections of the Cristóbal Balenciaga Foundation, made up of more than 1,200 models, are exhibited on a rotating basis.
