Jardines Costa i Llobera
The Costa i Llobera is on the hill at Montjuïc and was built at the same time as the Mossen Cinto Verdaguer and Joan Maragall gardens, all of them dedicated to poets in the Catalan language. Its wonderful position on the southeastern slope of Montjuïc, with a temperature a few degrees higher than the rest of the city, makes it possible for a series of plants to be kept outside, which otherwise would have to be under protection. These are "imported" plants acclimatised to the peninsula, which is the case of cactuses which, originating in the New World, were introduced in Europe and began to be grown from the time of Christopher Columbus.
