Church of Santiago (Baza)
Granada
The church was built on the site where the mosque once stood in the suburb of Marzuela in the 16th century. Built in the Mudejar style, it has three naves and a choir at the base. The central nave is covered by a Mudejar coffered ceiling, and the side aisles are rib-vaulted. The central nave is separated from the main chapel by a pointed transverse arch on Gothic pilasters. The main chapel is covered by a coffered octagonal Mudejar ceiling, richly decorated with polychrome carved cherubs, supported by shell-shaped pendentives.
