Church of Santa María la Mayor (Ronda)
Mixture of styles.
The Catholic Monarchs ordered its construction in 1485, but it wasn't completed until the 17th century. This explains its mixture of different artistic styles.
Gothic columns and ogives are preserved in its three naves, despite the damage suffered following an earthquake in 1580, which destroyed part of the church. Its Renaissance choir and Baroque altarpiece of Our Lady of Sorrows are some of the most important parts of the building. This image of the Virgin Mary is attributed to Montañés by some researchers and to "La Roldana" by others.
