Santa María Church in Ezcaray

The construction of this rather large building dates from the 12th to the 16th centuries. Its walls are of ashlar reddish stone typical of the region.It is a church-come-fortification with noteworthy cylindrical towers on the corners.On the outside the row of balconies supported on Romanesque corbels is striking.Inside there is a single nave church with an ogive vault and medallions.The oldest part of the building is Romanesque and is made up of the chapel of the Immaculada Concepción and the tower.
