Santa Eufemia Church
Santa Eufemia is Ourense's second largest church, after the cathedral. Its construction began in the 17th century, although the façade, an exceptional example of the Galician Baroque, was not completed until a century later. Friar Plácido Iglesias was in charge of the design. Seeing as the row of nearby houses was so close, he came up with a concave façade that could be better appreciated. The church's interior floor plan is Latin cruciform, with three longitudinal naves. At its head is a large Baroque altar with the Cristo de la Esperanza, dating from the 18th century.
