Church of San Quirce de Durro

Lleida

Santa Quirce de Durro is one of the Romanesque churches in the Boí Valley, which received the UNESCO World Heritage designation in 2000.

This is a Romanesque church of simple construction with single nave and a semi-circular apse. The nave has a barrel vault ceiling which appears from the exterior as a gable roof. As is characteristic of Romanesque buildings, the inside has very little light. Large ashlar stones were used in its construction. Inside there is a replica of the front of the Romanesque altar with the saints Quirce and Julieta de Durro. The originals can be found in the Catalan National Art Museum.
