Badajoz Provincial Archaeology Museum

Badajoz

A complete tour through different stages of history

From prehistory to the present day, passing through the Roman, Visigoth, Arab and Moorish periods.

The museum is located in the Muslim Alcazaba. More than 20,000 pieces from archaeological sites in the province are on display inside. Thus, you can see everything from Visigoth architectural elements, Arab ceramics and tombstones, to Roman mosaics. Particularly relevant is the collection of Bronze Age stelae, one of the most complete in the Iberian Peninsula. Also noteworthy is the section dedicated to megalithic villages.
