Evolution and art

The museum is housed in San Antón Castle, an ancient fortress from the 16th century.

The exhibition is divided into three sections. The Archaeology section displays pieces which depict different periods of pre-history and ancient history in Galicia, highlights of which include the Leiro helmet, the Xanceda torques and the Cícere metalwork collection. There is another space dedicated to medieval art and heraldry, while another section deals with the main historical events related to the city and the building itself.
