Alfabia
Bunyola
The Alfabia Mountains supply water to these unusual gardens, which have a series of extraordinarily beautiful Renaissance and Baroque features. Some examples are the cistern covered by a half-barrel vault, which affords a good vantage point for viewing this extensive landscaped area, and the large pergola with giochi d'acqua (concealed jets of water to spray unsuspecting visitors) in classic Renaissance style, which leads to the orange orchard. There is also a section with a more naturalistic design, created in the 19th century, which has a small lake with water plants.
