
As Mariñas Coruñesas and Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve

Found in the province of A Coruña (Galicia), northwest of Spain, it has a surface area of 113,969.7 hectares of land and 2,754.8 hectares of marine biosphere, representing 14.33% of the province's surface area, spanning across 17 municipalities.
A visit to this Biosphere Reserve means getting to know two large river basins, those of the Mero and Mandeo rivers, with a nature associated with riparian forests, wetlands and with a connection between inland and coastal waters typical of the Atlantic forest. The area also has a great cultural diversity related to the use of natural resources (honey production, etc.). All of this has allowed the maintenance of communities and the conservation of local livestock breeds. In fact, caring for the environment makes it possible to offer visitors quality gastronomic products (wines, seafood, etc.).

In this area you can find monuments such as the Pazo de Mariñán and its famous gardens, the various churches in the town of Betanzos and important examples of Romanesque architecture. Furthermore, two branches of the Camino de Santiago pass through this territory: the English Way and the Northern Way.
