It is one of the vastest, most environmentally rich and best preserved forests in Europe.

Irati Forest is a vast beech and fir tree forest situated next to the source of the Irati River, between the valleys of Aezkoa and Salazar. It is the largest wooded area in Navarre and also on the Peninsula. The Irati area is an ideal place for activities close to nature like hiking and mountain biking. During the winter months you can practise cross-country skiing in the Sierra de Abodi Mountains.
