Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña e Ibias Natural Park
Habitat for brown bears and capercaillies
Despite its amazing scenery, this park stands out for its unique, almost mythical animal species, such as the brown bear, the capercaillie and the wolf.
The park is structured by the upper basins of the Ibias and Narcea rivers, and closed to the south by Sierra de Degaña, and to the north by Sierra de Caniellas. Inside are the Muniellos and Cueto de Arbás Reserves, where diverse populations of brown bears and capercaillies are protected. Other notable species include the peregrine falcon, the gray partridge, the Pyrenean desman, the gray dormouse; and the roe deer, wild boar, wildcat, marten and beech marten.
