Las Batuecas - Sierra de Francia Nature Reserve
Diversity of fauna and flora
This is a place of incomparable scenic value. The flat surfaces of the plains stand in stark contrast to deep canyons carved out by the rivers. It also has a distinct and contrasting vegetation which includes everything from Mediterranean farm crops, somewhat uncommon at this latitude, and other ecosystems with a more Atlantic influence such as Pyrenean oak forests. Its fauna includes more than 200 different species of vertebrates.
