none

Summer is coming and you're craving a holiday. Your dream couples trip awaits you in Spain. You will find infinite destinations to continue falling in love with your travel companion. From a volcanic island to a nearly deserted beach nestled among charming towns, or a dreamy spot on the coast. Three romantic getaways that will season your beautiful love story with a taste of salt.

Lanzarote, Canary Islands

This is one of the eight islands of the Canary Islands archipelago, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1993. It is a good place to walk among volcanoes; they say there are more than a hundred of them. You can explore the island in search of hidden corners where you can be completely alone with your partner. The peace and tranquillity here will help you to really disconnect from your daily routine. Beyond its beautiful landscapes, there are plenty of things to do on the island, so there's no chance of getting bored. To see incredible volcanic nature, you simply have to visit Timanfaya National Park, where the rock stands in stark contrast to the colour of the sea. On the Volcanoes Route you can visit Caldera Blanca, the Cuervo volcano and La Corona volcano. Another place that also boasts a volcanic heritage is La Geria. A protected landscape where vineyards are cultivated in a peculiar way: in conical holes. The result is a sweet white wine to toast with so that the flame of love never goes out. The beaches of this island are perfect for becoming your next paradise. Take note of a few: Famara beach, perfect for surfing and strolling along the shore, Papagayo beach, with its turquoise water, or the coast of Teguise. Its scenery looks like something from Mars or the Moon, and it will be the highlight of your getaway that will leave you wanting to come back again.

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the Basque Country

On coast of northern Spain is hidden a small islet, which made the world fall in love with Game of Thrones and could be the setting of your next romantic postcard. San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is located in the province of Vizcaya, between the towns of Bermeo and Bakio. Taking it as a starting point, you can visit its surrounding areas: coastal towns, steep cliffs and the city of Bilbao. San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is located in an area where the rock and the Cantabrian Sea take centre stage. To get to the hermitage, you will need to climb up 241 dizzying steps built into the rocks, but once you reach the top, you can soak in views like no other. The legends surrounding the place will add a touch of mystery to your getaway. To the west is Bilbao, but if you continue along the coast to the east you'll come across some truly beautiful destinations. The first of them is Urdaibai, a Biosphere Reserve at the mouth of the Oka River that will fill your heart with life. Lekeitio will surprise you with its historic center, its beaches and the Santa Catalina lighthouse. If you are only looking for beaches, you have Laga, Mundaca or Karraspio, all of them perfect for a day's surfing.

Punta Paloma, Cadiz

In the Natural Park of the Strait of Gibraltar, Punta Paloma beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Tarifa, at the southernmost tip of Spain. It is long, so the walks along the sand will give your feet a little massage as you approach the shore. The sand on this beach is white and fine, and when you reach the water, you will see a blanket of blue that will take your breath away. Its large dunes will keep you entertained, as you will certainly not have a dull moment. You can fly a kite, play a game of paddle or simply get swept up in a footrace. If you climb up to the top of the highest dunes, you can see the northern tip of Africa, on this beach with a thousand things to do where you can enjoy the sun and the sea in the best of company.
