Albarracín (Teruel, Aragón)
Any time of year is good for visiting this village in southern Aragón, which always appears on the lists of the prettiest in Spain. Albarracín is less than two hours’ drive from Zaragoza and about half an hour from the city of Teruel.Walking around its steep streets and its old town walls and taking photos of its russet-painted medieval houses, you feel as if you’re in a different time, where nobody is ever in a hurry. You can take a guided tour or set off by yourself from the Plaza Mayor, and discover its cathedral, its castle, and interesting places, especially for kids, like the Toy Museum and Mar Nummus, where you’ll find fossils from the sea that once covered this area, 150 million years ago.A 10-minute drive away is the Protected Landscape of Pinares de Rodeno, where you can see World Heritage cave paintings. Some more villages in Teruel worth visiting:Valderrobres, Calaceite, Puertomingalvo, Rubielos de Mora, Cantavieja, Mirabel…
